Alan Cumming to Attend Frameline31

Director and Star of Suffering Man’s Charity

Tony Award-winner Alan Cumming will attend the June 19 Castro Theatre screening of his latest film, Suffering Man’s Charity. Directed by and starring Cumming, Suffering Man’s Charity is a malevolent comic bow to the Grand Guignol, offering a fresh twist on the hustler/john power dynamic.

Cumming also appears in the Frameline release Motherfucker: A Movie directed by David Casey, a rocking documentary profiling the infamous New York City club that has its World Premiere at Frameline31 on June 19.

Cumming appears again at Frameline31 as the voice of “Chuck”, a bitter, old queen who is outspoken, HIV positive and confined to a wheelchair, in the new Logo animated series Rick & Steve the Happiest Gay Couple in All the World that has its World Premiere at Frameline31 on June 20 at the Castro Theatre.

Cumming, whose roles have ranged from his Tony-winning turn as the flamboyant emcee in Cabaret to Nightcrawler in X-Men 2, most recently scored a recurring role on Showtime's The L Word and starred in a modern adaptation of Bertolt Brecht's The Threepenny Opera on Broadway.

In January Cumming married graphic artist Grant Shaffer in a civil ceremony at the Old Royal Naval College near London.
